Li Dongsheng, chairman of TCL group, recently revealed that the LCD panel glass manufacturer Asahi Nippon has officially signed a contract to invest in the construction of the 8th generation LCD panel glass substrate project in Shenzhen, and the leading period will invest nearly US $300million (equivalent to about 2billion yuan)

Asahi is the world's second largest producer of glass substrates, which are the most basic materials for liquid crystal panels

Li Dongsheng said, "the settlement of Asahi nitko in Shenzhen is an important part of Shenzhen's building of the flat panel industry chain, and also marks the high recognition of the industrial partners for the csot project."

the total investment of csot 8.5 generation LCD panel project is 24.5 billion yuan, with a registered capital of 10 billion yuan. TCL group and Shenzhen shenchao Technology Investment Co., Ltd. each hold 50% of the shares. The project was officially started on January 16, 2010. It is expected to be put into operation in August this year, and the operation of the system control circuit has been greatly reduced, which is 4 months shorter than the scheduled time. So far, mass production has been achieved by the end of the year

since LG, Samsung and Youda built Gaogen line panel factories in the mainland until the end of last year, it actually provided a "time window" for TCL to seize the market.
